A service overview and catalog of Data Center Colocation Services provided by the UC Berkeley IT Service Hub.
Description
UC Berkeley offers colocation services within its on-campus data center, providing a secure, reliable, and energy-efficient environment for hosting university-affiliated IT infrastructure. This service is designed for academic departments, research groups, and administrative units that require high-availability data center resources without the need for commercial colocation facilities.

- Redundant Power & Cooling: Backup power solutions, including UPS and generators, ensure continuous operation, while advanced cooling systems maintain optimal environmental conditions.
- High-Speed Network Connectivity: The facility is connected to the campus backbone network via two separate 100-gigabit trunks for low-latency access to campus and external resources.
- Scalability: Flexible rack space options to accommodate growing computing needs.
- Managed Services Option: Optional remote hands support for routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Cost-Effective Solution: More affordable than commercial colocation providers, tailored to the needs of the university community.
