Campus Sandbox AI (Beta)

The UC Berkeley Campus AI Sandbox is a secure, privacy-preserving environment that allows users to access and experiment with most commercial and open-source Large Language Models (LLMs) through a single interface. Built on the open-source LibreChat platform, it offers access to models such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini for tasks like writing, coding, and research. Data entered into the Sandbox is protected under University terms and is not used to train public AI models.

Faculty and staff may log into the Campus Sandbox AI with your CalNet credentials.
Student workers may submit a request to sign up for the pilot.

Service Details

Eligibility

This service is available to Faculty and Staff. Student workers may request access after discussing with their supervisor. All members of the College of Engineering and the Haas School of Business already have access and do not need to request access.

Availability

Available 24/7. Support is provided Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PT, excluding University holidays and curtailment periods.
